We are a small ethnic grocery retailer focussing on food from the Indian subcontinent.  
We work very hard to provide authentic Indian grocery to our customers.   
We have been extremely fortunate to have amazing customers and it’s a testament to their kindness, 
advice, support and advocacy that we exist.  
We do hope you enjoy your experience and if we disappoint you in any way we apologise in advance.

FAQs
We have compiled a list of questions and answers that we hope will help you. For all the rest the answer is still 42. 

1. Can I get some Indian yumminess online?

We currently only deliver to all the BR postcodes, SE3, SE6, SE9, SE10, SE12, DA1, DA2, DA5, DA6, DA7, DA14,DA15, DA16, TN1, TN2, TN3, TN4, TN8, N9, TN10, TN11, TN13, TN14, TN15, TN16. Not to worry if you are outside this postcode, we will expand our delivery radius in a few months. Watch out for updates on our FB page- The Indian Shop.

2. What happens if something is damaged or if there are returns?

We are not a nameless, faceless warehouse. We are your local shop, so please let us know or even drop in say hi and exchange or refund at the shop.

3. Can I get a refund or exchange for any product?

We will always stand by our products, but we have to be sensible. If the product is not returned or we are not intimated within 15 days or before the expiry date whichever is earlier then we can’t help. So please intimate us at the earliest
(email -shopkeeperpw@theindianshop.co.uk). Also please store the product till it’s returned in the appropriate conditions. We are at 172 Petts Wood Road, BR5 1LG. For fresh produce unfortunately we cannot accept returns as we receive deliveries nearly every day and therefore the freshness and quality will not be an issue.

4. Why do you charge for delivery?

We have to charge for delivery (3.99) as our prices are not inflated to accommodate delivery costs. Our prices in shop
and online are the same, this probably makes us the cheapest online Indian grocery retailer in the UK!

5. Why are my yumminess packed in cardboard boxes not fancy packaging?

Our objective is to reduce non-recyclable waste to the maximum possible extent. We stopped using plastic bags from July 2018 and our customers have been extremely supportive of our decision. We do provide biodegradable bags at a small cost. Our delivery vehicle has a separate compartment for frozen and chilled foods. We believe that the packaging we use can be easily recycled. We do hope that you will keep supporting this philosophy.

6. What is the delivery schedule?

We provide a next day delivery service usually but depending on the volume of orders we might have to extend delivery times. We have a cut off of 5 pm each day for orders to be delivered next day delivery. Please see below as an
indicative schedule.

7. Is there a minimum order?

Unfortunately due to the strains of economics we need a minimum order of £40  and £3.99 delivery charge.

8. What if I want to add something to my order after I have paid?

We don’t store your personal data and therefore don’t have the rights to add to your order and automatically charge you for the change. This is to ensure that only you can authorise payments to your card. So please be very careful about what you order.

9. How do I get a refund?

We will process your refund directly back on to the card that was used for payment.
